Magic Square Art

Background

Craig Knecht had an idea of a "prime number viewer" for magic squares. Program HighlightSquare was written for this. It displays number rectangles with featured cells highlighted in color. Optionally, groups of connected cells are colored differently by group size.

By ommitting the rectangle numbers, some features display as interesting patterns. Notable are odd or even numbers of composites of associative squares. The pattern varieties can be greatly increased with square transformations.
